Jaguar XJ6 Series III, for sale in Stratford, Connecticut, for $3,500.

A car provided by a friend of ours. .98,000 original miles, very straight body with no signs of rust perforation, original maroon paint with its share of wear but not dented and quite presentable. Chrome and rubber trim are very good. Incredibly well preserved interior, in tan leather. Excellent headliner, carpets, interior panels, seats, really nice. No idea of the history but I find the preservation of the interior to be really surprising. Just look at the photos.

Work just done: completely rebuilt front suspension, new calipers, pads, and front rotors, all fluids changed, new radial tires, detailed engine, sandblasted and enameled cam covers. Exhaust is quiet (with no leaks), all gauges and electrics work, sunroof opens and closes properly, even the original stereo works well.

The Fuel Injected 4.2 liter DOHC engine (same as used in E Types from 1965 through 1971) is smooth and responsive. No leaks, no valve clatter, perfect oil pressure, doesn't miss a beat. Auto trans shifts crisply. And the car is a dream to drive. Quiet with incredible ride qualities. And not a single rattle.

Not really our cup of tea but we are selling it as a favor. And for the price, a nice classic sedan. . . refinish the wood dash (available brand new for $300) and a quick respray and this ol' Jag will make a very nice, very inexpensive, and very usable classic.

AND. . . a trade? As we would like to see this car disappear (takes up too much room). . . what do you have? A cute little Sprite or Midget, an MGB that needs some work, we are open and flexible.
