In International Red with Black, with only 42 miles. Running, all original, unmodified truck with excellent metal work condition before restoration work was started in 2002 and completed in 2003. Powder coated frame, axles, suspension parts, running boards and wheels were powder coated. NOS parts were collected over 4 years. International did not use a matching number system on their engines and transmissions. Electrical system has been modified only slightly for safety reasons. The exterior lights on the truck are 12v, everything else stayed 6v. Part of private collection and shown rarely, always stored in climate controlled building. Pictures available of car before and during restoration. The first year of the new D series was 1937. It represented a change from the old boxy design to the sleek, modern lines of the future. The D series was the front runner of this new look for all truck brands being made at the time. The new sleek design included torpedo headlights, sweeping fenders with tails, rounded nose/grill, two piece arched windshield, retooled/modern instrument cluster and more chrome than ever before. This truck has every option (factory and dealer) known to exist for the model year. Examples: torpedo turn signals on fenders and cab lights on top of cab (both very rare), chrome front bumper, chrome hub caps with logo, windshield visor with chrome surround, fender skirts and a rare grain bed. The grain bed is one of two know to exist today and was manufactured by Lifetime Body in Salina KS. It was sold through International dealers in the Midwest. The International logo on the tail gate was only produced on the D series in 1937, no other year.
