About Phaeton
The Hudson Phaeton was a convertible sedan manufactured in the late 1920s into the early 1930s. The first L series models had a 132” wheelbase, later slightly reduced to 129”. Weighing over 3000 lbs and capable of carrying 7 passengers in comfort they are an imposing car.
Originally sold for $1500 the price was later slashed to $1120 in the second series. 1930 – 1932 series L models ran an 8 cylinder engine producing 98hp. An estimated 1,116 series one units were built, many overseas. In other markets the model was often named a Model-K Tourer.
Model production ended in 1933 when public favor tended towards closed hard cabs instead of soft tops.
