Carburetor gaskets
These gaskets act as a heat isolator from the intake and exhaust manifold radiated heat. If you do not experience any fuel boil or vapor lock I guess you can keep it the way you have it.

Need NOS or excelllent Red Grill emblem for 52 Hornet

1950 Hood difference from 1949?
I will look closer at the latch panel and see if they used a 49 or a 50 latch and panel set-up. I am still interested in a picture of what a 1950 hood looked like from the factory without trim.
