Radiator for 47 Hudson
I'm in the wrong business if a guy wants to charge you $750 to recore that radiator. It's difficult to spend more than that for the best quality new or a custom-built radiator!

The only bad flares I've ever made were with cheap flaring tools. The only good flares I've ever made were with quality flaring tools. This is one area where you need to spend the money for a quality tool!

Hudson Jet 202 in a Hornet or Wasp?
When I got my '46 pickup it had a 202 installed in it, an upgrade at some point in its life over the original splasher. It you didn't know Hudsons it would probably look factory, and I'll bet was a popular swap into the 40's cars…

rear shackle interchange~stepdown
I think the best way is to go to a good spring shop and have them modify the original leaves to get the amount of drop you want. It's the best way to get the lowered stance while retaining a decent ride quality.

Rebuilding rear brakes-question on painting
Do make sure you use a Hi-Heat paint. Standard paint will burn off pretty quick.
