54 Hornet Gas Cap
Bruce, I believe the 54 stepdowns used the 53-54 Jet caps? Then the correct cap is for 53-57 Chev or 49-58 Cadillac. Those #s are Stant G37, GM part #1453962 . The cap on my 50 Caddy fits the Jet.

vacuum wiper help
Do like Roger says. If you have a dual diaphragm pump the wipers draw off the top of the fuel pump ( probably the rear nipple), which draws from the intake manifold fitting.
