We Surround Them!
-
We've had such a good lively discussion on my job demise
I was wondering if any of you listen to Glenn Beck and might be participating in the "We Surround Them" event planned for this Friday?
http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/21018/
We surround them.
So, how do we show America what’s really behind the curtain? Below are nine simple principles. If you believe in at least seven of them, then we have something in common. I urge you to read the instructions at the end for how to help make your voice heard.
The Nine Principles
1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
12 Values- Honesty
- Reverence
- Hope
- Thrift
- Humility
- Charity
- Sincerity
- Moderation
- Hard Work
- Courage
- Personal Responsibility
- Gratitude
I'll be honest I'm not a really religious person - but I agree with at least 7 of the 9 principles and COMPLETELY agree that there are more of us than them.
Basically We Surround them premise stems from his belief that if you look at the real political divisions in this country its more like 15% Far Left Liberal, 15% Far Right Conservatives and the remaining 70% is made up of you and me as a mix of democrats, republicans, indies!
There's a get together in Gig Harbor I think I'll attend, it's at 2PM pacific time - but hey, I got no job to go to - maybe I'll go meet with some like minded people!
Comments?
PS> Being unemployed my posts-per-day average is going to go way up
-
It's a good idea. Make yourself a name tag, sort of a mini resume, like...
Dan
Computer Programmer
Hot Rod Builder
Folks like to hire like minded people, and I think Glenn Beck will attract business minded people. You never know where you'll run into your next paycheck LOL. -
Given the wonderful people in office now, all stripes, I would like to start a movement called "Vote the Bastards Out". Vote out any incumbent on the ballet, regardless. This would screw up the money machine and raise the entertainment level. Or, add a “none of the above†to every ballot entry. If “none of the above†wins, and new election would take place excluding former candidates…..ah, if I were King for a day….the fun!

Dan,
all I can say is.....Dittos.. or has that word already been taken. LOL.. Yep, Friday 5 PM Fox News Channel.. I'll be there.

Smile big, the government probably organized that event to identify as many as possible and take your picture while your there. Just make sure you drive a different way home.

Was it Thomas Jefferson that said a healthy government should be over thrown every two hundred years? Or something like that? -

Here is what the experts think about Obama's ecomomic policies...far different from the drive-by media...

Thats pretty funny don't you think "experts" would these be the same experts that have been commenting on the economy for the last 2 years? I don't think we would be in this mess if there were real experts out there.www.hudsonmotorcar.org
-
Sean - As you already know an expert is: A drip under pressure!
-
I know if I was a so called economist and expert I would be laying low for two years and keeping my mouth shut. A very wise cause of action for these drips....www.hudsonmotorcar.org

Could it be: Keith Rupert Murdoch? The keeper of the conservative journalistic flame? The former Australian who seems to keep the fires stoked between FOX and CNN. The controller of Facebook etc... etc... the WSJ is a wholly owned subsidary of DOW JONES. Bought as part of the package KRM aquired by offering over 2 X the value of Dow Jones stock in 2007. A Australian by birth who turned American and moved his holding to the US to assure Wall Street brokers would give them ... street value... something the folks from the middle east have been doing for decades.... OH well, @ $8.5 B US net worth... KRM has more clout than some countries... and he knows how to make versus lose a buck.
For what its worth it was KRM who got the current US President to come to a meeting which in turn got the candidate to realize that FOX bashing was not going to work. Interesting that the retoric died the very next day. Point ... money talks and he who has the airways and print does not need to raise cash to make a point. -

Not me. I would be laying lower if I were a congressman, senator, Barney Frank and those politicians that ran fannymae, etc. Politicians don't listen to "experts". They listen to those who donate the most money. -

HOW RIGHT YOU ARE. The point being that things like that have to be taken with a grain of salt. DON'T believe everything you read unless you know all the facts. By the way Barney Franks was not the chairman until 2 years ago, when the Democrats became the majority, before it was chaired by the GOP. and this trouble started before that. Democrat or Republican, Still no excuse. -
FOX News comes right out and says "We report. You decide." What's the problem?
CNN, MSNBC, ABCNBCCBS, and virtually every single TV "news" network and the print media, make no bones about their Left leanings. And people gripe about FOX! as being the problem! Classic!
The print media actually wonders why papers are going under."The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings..." -

Amen and as some of my friends say... let me get another AMEN!... and Please do not slight your neighboring state's best man and ring master Harry "You are always right,Nancy" Ried. -
In Senator Reid's last election his campaign slogan was "Independent like Nevada"
Ummmm, really??!!
Unfortunately, I think you guys will be stuck with Sen. Reid for a while. The GOP doesn't have much local talent left to challenge him with. -
Here in IOWA, We acually like our people in congress. Very nonpartisan state for the most part. With that statment I am opting out of this discussion, before someone gets mad at me. SEE YA.

I feel very fortunate that I am able to enjoy this hobby. I'm not going to blame anyone for what's going on with the economy - been through this before (under both "parties") and will get through this one too. Every election someone loses, and they always get nasty. And someone always wants to surround someone. How childish. Reminds me of high school when we argued - and sometimes physically fought - about which was better, Chevy or Ford.
Turn off the news. Go outside and enjoy spring. If you want to surround something, let's sit around a pitcher of your favorite cold beverage and talk cars. -
Regardless of who is at fault, there needs to be blame placed so that there is some accountability. I don't let people off the hook so easily. BTW, I used to be a Ford guy while growing up. Now have three Hudsons, a Mercedes Unimog and a Nissan pick up. Guess I've moved more to the middle....LOL
-
California is run by a bunch of morons that are running this state into hell. I sure do not vote for these idiots so I guess everone is happy with whats going on that do. So I will go outside and see what the best weather in the country looks like and enjoy. Have a great day, Ron

Quit with the "celebrating spring" talk already! We can't get it to stop snowing around here! And we're supposed to be "temperate" around here. As I scraped my windshield for the umpteenth morning in a row, I had to throw Barrack a bit of a bone- He may be making a pig's breakfast of everything else, but he did get this global warming thing solved in a hurry! -

This current "representitive" government is a joke - and she is one of the biggest clowns ever (she just doesn't wear Whiteface in public
)
I listened to this sound clip via radio the other day - it's a 6 minute video if you follow the link...
Then ask yourself - do you disagree with much of what was said?
http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/22914/ -
Rambo and Ron p. I don't care for her either, but When did YOUR forebearers arrive in this country?
-
My Grandparents arrived here in 1900 from Denmark via Ellis Island... and they did it legally. They learned how to speak ENGLISH and they became US Citizens. Never asked for a dime of taxpayer money, worked hard and put my dad thru medical school..... that my friends is what made America great.
I won't say what I think of Pelosi... -
Late 1800's early 1900's from 4 counties.
-
"WHEN" is a moot point since my Forebearers came here legally.
I have huge issues with anyone who is in our country illegally.
EVERY single illegal is yet another example of the complete FAILURE the FED/LOCALS have been at solving the problem since the Reagan amnesty of the 80.s - remember, the promise back then was to secure the borders and it never happended.
I have a huge problem with ALL H1B Visa Workers in this country as well and the issuance of H1B's ought to be tied to the unemployment rates - they're taking jobs citizens could fill like myself.
AM I un-American because I was born here and think people should come here LEGALLY? Pelosi thinks so... -

Right On Dan And Rambo -
You guys said it exactly., But my point is that WE are a country of emigrants, unfortuntly at this time a lot of them are not supposed to be here and our goverment is not doing what it should do to keep them out. Now we can see how the indians felt 300 years ago. By the way you all are good at debating, I wish I had you around during the 1950's in the Wash. DC. beer joints. When we would discuss politics and everything else. I still say TERM LIMITS are the solution.
-
I certainly agree with term limits. Don't worry, I got your back at the hotel bar in Pontiac...
As far as the Indians, historically, they ended up much better than many conquered nations of old Europe and the countless wars and slave taking everywhere else in the world. Attilla the Hun is just one example. Many Indian tribes here were also constantly raiding and killing each other. I am filing legal paperwork to claim some of these Indian casinos and stake claim in the name of the Vikings.... -
I have "NO" problems with immigrants like you said we are all from there. I have the problem with "ILLEGAL". But I do not blame them for what they do I would do the same to stay alive and feed the family. Its "OUR" government that lets this go out of control and for some reason do not care. The Palosi's of the government need to go and folks that are in OUR best interest need to be voted in. But how in the heck do we keep getting these morons back in office ? Very soon it will be a one sided race.

I agree...You say "For some reason". The reason is simple.. They (liberal Republicans and democrats primarily) want to add more people to the list of those that are dependant on the government for thier existance. More dependants, more power. plain and simple. They are doing an outstanding job of destroying our free enterprise system and replacing it with government programs. The same tactic that the Communist Party used before WW1..Only this time it's working. They cause class hatrid then capitalize on it.
They preach that government is the answer when it is usually the root of the problem...UGH ! -

Don't blame the problem on the Democrats. The last administration had a BIG part of the problem. They(Republicans) were in charge 1996 to 2008 and that is when this problem really expanded. They accually increased the size of Goverment, Increased spending and national debt more than any prior administration, took us from a surplus to a national deficit., and if you followed the news were trying to pry into your personal business thru the patriot act. as far as free enterprise, just look at our current money/business problems, I will bet you not one OF THESE CORPORATE LEADERS VOTED DEMOCRAT. Liddy at AIG was appointed by The last administration. Trying to make the large banks pay attention is hardly communistic, class hatred started LONG BEFORE Obama got here. -
