I just want to know if anyone thinks this is a good deal? -****1969 Plymouth Valiant - $1500***** "A steal at this price. Very cool classic and very reliable. You could drive it across the county today if you wanted.

4 door. NEW 225 Slant 6 and just rebuilt... has about 800 miles on it. Automatic, Power steering. Converted to electronic ignition. California car, so no rust. Original interior in very good condition. Only thing that is missing is the headliner. I just took it out because it was tearing.

Work done in the last year... transmission reseal, pinion reseal, valve adjustment, Brakes + Brake hoses, Front shocks, HD torsion bars, rebuilt Front end, battery, HD cooling radiator, thermostat, fuel pump, water pump, hoses belts, alternator, distributor, cap, rotor, plug wires, accel super stock coil, voltage regulator, and ECU.

I do have receipts for the engine." Let me know what you guys think. 1fb1291493n23p33l48cf2c571284933c1b95.jpg1f11441g63md3p13l78cfb53ba34168a91eda.jpg1191f11g63k93p43o38cf0d720b4155f8149c.jpg 1f914c1g53k33p33l58cfadc59684d41417c2.jpg

This is a post on Craigslist. in Colorado...I already talked to the guy, I drove the car, the car starts right up & everything seems great! The only thing was that the car stopped when you dont give it gas. The guy said it was due to the carburetor, & how cold it was outside (5 degrees F), & He said this about the tittle- "I do have the title and it is in my name. I can show you my registration card. Because it's registered in California, you have to fill out a title form and mail it in or go to a California DMV. They then mail you the title in your name. Then you take the title to a Colorado DMV and register the car in Colorado. This is the proper procedure to transfer title for a California title. There is nothing wrong or different about it, it just the way it's done." Is this right? or whats the deal?

if that guys title is in his name he can take it into the colorado dmv and with a vin inspection get a colorado title which he can then sign over to you----also check with colorado title clerk--if his title is open he can sign it over to you and then you with a vin inspection can get a colorado title in your name----the kiss of death is if he has a california title in someone elses name that is signed over to him--if so he has to put the title in his name before he can sign it over to you
best to look at the title carefully or get him to go to dmv with you to let a clerk look at it

What? You haven't got it yet? What are you waiting for?

That's a great deal! So what if it's a four-door? You can't find a decent runner in most parts of the country for that money anymore!

One little caveat...watch the damn California titles! A Cali car, going out-of-state, can be a real PITA. INSIST that the seller put the car in HIS name first. DO NOT accept that title as it is! You WANT a Colorado title. Let that seller deal with the CA paperwork. I know enough nightmare stories about Cali titles, especially in Arizona and Nevada, to know you want this right before you ever take possession of that Valiant.

Nope dont have it yet:o...Yea I know its a great deal, but the whole title deal was a bit of a drawback. It is a four door...He said he was getting the title in 1-2 weeks sent from the California DMV, and he did say- "ABSOLUTELY Clear Title in his name"...so whats the deal with Cali titles? are they too strict about policies or what??

I've had a couple of instances where I wanted to buy a car and a truck from different people. Both vehicles had California titles and were signed over to the persons I was dealing with. California, like many states, does not permit a title to be signed over a sevond time on the same title, unless it's going to a car dealer or wholesaler. Both of the sellers I was dealing with said that that was "no big deal"...sure, right. I made a phone call or two to confirm my suspicions that they were full of bovine excrement. I did not buy the vehicles and told them exactly why I did not buy them.

Make sure the California title is in the seller's name and properly signed before you even think of handing over the cash.
