I'm sure someone has already seen this but was channel surfing last night and saw 2 great looking Hudsons parked along a street in a scene from the movie Hairspray with Queen Lativa.

They looked to be 50 or 51 4doors parked one behind the other.

Always good to see a Hudson in the movies.

Does anyone know who's cars these were?

Shhhh. Women get jealous when you notice some other sweet thing's luscious, alluring, perfect curves. Queen Latifah will have the Hudsons edited out if she learns the show is being stolen by two goodlookers in the background.

While on the topic of Hudsons in movies, here's a little Name that Movie challenge:

In the 1970's I watched a movie on TV, perhaps a made-for-TV movie, in which a struggling rodeo cowboy of the '70's drove a light colored stepdown Hudson for part of the movie. It died on him while he was on the road and he abandoned the car in favor of a cute girl who gives him a lift and a suggestive smile. The rest of the movie was completely forgettable, but I sure do remember that Hudson. I don't know what the color of that Hudson was because we only had a rabbit-eared black and white TV set that you had to get up and slap on the side when the picture went sidewobbly sometimes. The car, as I saw it, was a lighter shade of gray. About the color of Sonny Bono's "Sonny and Cher Show" leisure suits. THAT shade of light gray, so I guess the car could have been yellow, or orange, or sky blue, or lime green, or lavender, or... .

Been trying for many years to remember the name or find a copy of that movie just to see the Hudson.

Did anyone notice on the outside of the case for the movie Pleasantville, down in the corner is a '51 Hudson Hornet, I believe blue. Just cute. Also I ordered a puzzle for a friend entitled "The Fifties" which is a collection of various fifties items and one of them is a Hudson. Yippie

I believe the movie you thinking of is J.W. Coop starring Cliff Robertson.

It was shot in Tulare County California when I was college freshman. I watch some of filming around Porterville. If I remember correctly it was pale blue.

I heard that they got down to pushing the car so he drive it into scenes.

YES! That's it! Thanks, Ducor Kid! I've put it into my Netflix lineup! Thanks for the tip!

Cristina Ferrare as the cute come-on chick. An interesting case of life imitating art, in view of her later role in the John Delorean saga.

I've noticed a couple of Hudson sightings lately in movies.

"Walk The Line" - the first family picnic scene with Johnny, June, and the Carter family. Looks like the Carter's are all driving Hudsons.

The second movie was by pure accident while flipping the channels, I saw a Jet. "The Butcher of Plainfield" The Ed Gein story. The hero/deputy drives a Jet sedan, its shown alot.
Gimme a Hudson, with that "Instant Action"

Don't forget the comedy zombie movie Fido from last year. One of the characters drives around in a 50 Pacemaker. Actually has a lot of screen time and scenes inside the car as well.

Did anyone catch the movie Devil in a Blue Dress? I think Denzel Washington drives around in a 47 Commodore throughout the movie. Of course I'm not an expert and I might be completely wrong about car as I never did see a brand on it.

Kelly's Heros was on cable where we live couple of times and I noticed that Clint Eastwood, the main character in the WWII war movie, was asked what he was going to do with his share of the loot. He said he would "buy a Hudson with an electric shift". Dont know if he was refering to a pre or post war model, not familiar with those models. But an interesting movie and I always listen close now that I know what he's going to say. Thanks, Bob

    fyi or food for thought

i have the 1931 hudson which was in the movie FOOLS PARADE with James Stewart,Kurt Russell,Strother Martin, and Geroge Kennedy, i also have the shotgun used and a movie poster, with a snapshot of James Stewart riding in the car,. the car is as it was in 1970 when used nothing has been done to it since just sat around. hoping to restore someday , runns but needs timed and points set. here is a photo ,

mabey we can get more replies of movie hudsons. i know of one on a Jean Autry episode not sure which one but remember seeing it. it rolled over or a huge rock fell on it if i remember correctly, i think it was a 30 or 31.

I searched the movie car site and did not see the Red 1950 hudson Conv. Jack Nicholson drove in "The Two Jakes" (sequel to China Town). Some good shots of her rolling through orange groves.

    Sybersell-

Nice car. You said "hoping to restore someday". Go to it, man! The only way to get it done is to get started! She'd be a fine one to put back to her original glory.
