'46 Hudson Pickup project - on Ebay -
-
Located in Skillman, NJ - with an old NY Registration as a title (older vehicles do not get issued titles in NY). $2,400.00, no apparent reserve.
Looks to be mostly there - missing radiator, running boards, etc. The tailgate isn't original, although the seller claims to have a piece of tin with the 'Hudson' logo for a replacement, and new boards for bed (?).
The serial number given indicates it is a '46, although it has a '47 center grille piece.

The truck is not presently in the HET registry. I just added it to my list as being on eBay. I'm watching it and will track it to the new owner and try to reel him in.

Sure looks like a good restoration candidate. Hope it gets a good home.

Looks better than some of the other ones that have popped up lately. Seems to be reasonably solid.

Larry as the new Registrar of the Stepdown "8"'s I like your idea of watching and tracking internet sales of Hudson's for the Registries. Perhaps those of us Registrars who frequent this board and communicate via email can share ideas and help one another with our registries. I know the new Stepdown Convertible Registrar frequents this board. -
I completely agree. Many Hudson's that come up for sale on Ebay are outside the HET club. Registars should at lease record the serial numbers and existance of the car so we get a more accurate picture of surviving Hudson's and maybe sequence of serial numbers missing (there'd be a lot). I'm compiling my roster data I only came across one car that was #1 off the assembly line for a given year. Knowing what's out there might really help with our future preservation efforts. For example models and years we can consider "endangered" and worth attention as far as surviving examples go.

Uncle Josh - If this truck gets 'sold' & you make contact with the buyer (and they plan to restore it), tell them I have a radiator out of a '47 Hudson Pickup for them...
And - If it is an HET club member (or they plan on joining), tell them they can have the radiator for the price of shipping (or if local to me, they can pick it up!), 'mouse nest' and all...
(Not tested - I have done nothing with it other than take the radiator off of the truck's frame, but it appears to be in decent shape...). -
Finished @ $2,425.00. Looks like somebody got a decent project.

I contacted the buyer. Haven't heard from him yet.

Uncle Josh and HET members,
My father recently purchased a 46 Hudson Pickup from his friend for $500. Gene, my Dad's good friend died from cancer a few weeks later. We are planning on restoring the truck out of love for both Gene and our love for the old truck. I want Gene's widow to go for the first ride in it. Gene never got around to fixing it up, even though he had it for almost 30 years, but he sure had a lot of neat Willys pickups and panels that he built. Anyway, I have sent my check and form to the Hudson club, but I did not include the ID # and have not received anything back yet either. It seems like it is fairly important to get the truck registered with the HET. Is there a way to do that online? I am sure that I will have many restoration questions in the future and look forward to gaining knowledge from you gentleman and ladies. The pickup's exterior is black with yellow wheels and it has a very large White Triangle logo in the center of the back glass. Could it have been a Hudson dealership truck? It was purchased in El Dorado Springs, MO.
Thank You Very Much,
Mark -
Speaking of... i should probably get signed back up... I let it lapse a while back but I'm still hoarding a truck project LOL

You guys can email me directly at HETcramerlp@roadrunner.com
Drop the HET of course to foil the spam machines.
I'll get your trucks in the registry and double check the info in the membership roster.
Larry, HET Truck Registrar
BTW, it's a lot more fun for you and the people who see it, to get it running safely and fix it up while you drive it.
