Managers choice at Cruise Night
-
I just got back from my Thursday night Cruise In and I was pleasently surprised when it was announced the my 1951 Pacemaker Coupe was chosen as 'Managers Choice ' for the night. There were about 140 cars there tonight. This is the first week a trophy has been awarded.
It is nice to have a Hudson recognized over all the other 'big buck' cars there. Mine was the only Hudson there. Last night at another Cruise night we had three Hudsons in attendence.

Congrats! Great to hear that Hudson is doing well against the big three.
I will have mine in the Pasadena Chalk Festival Car Show on Sunday. Should be about 150 cars there, and sidewalk artwork done in chalk. I'll let you all know what happens and how many Hudsons are there -

If you're a trophy hunter, git that Hudson out of the garage, son, and off to any trophy meet nearby. 9 times out of 10 a Hudson will garner recognition simply because they don't come out of their hidy holes all that often!!!!
Show and go time, boys (to paraphrase ole DW) "TIGHTEN UP THEM BELTS, ONE MORE TIME -- LETS GO CRUISING BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys get those Hudsons out - I'll keep digging up the material for my web site that'll help keep 'em running. (And a lot of others will be glad to help too!!)

I know as a club we are not trophy oriented. That's great because usually the one with the most money wins. But I have to say I love winning trophies with my '49. Hudson. Yes I spent 26 years restoring it, yes I have a lot more money in the car than I expected.
Why does the car win a lot of trophies? Because its a Hudson. The car gets a lot of attention. As soon as I pull into a cruise night or a car show people come up to me and start telling stories about their dads Hudson or the about the one they use to own. I love hearing these stories and talking to the people about the car. One time a gentlemen asked me if I had a few minutes to talk about my Hudson. I told him that I can spend hours talking about the Hudson automobiles.
As I tell people at shows anybody can restore a Ford or a Chevy it takes a lot to restore a Hudson, after all they are a better car.
This Sunday I am bring my car to the MCC Alumni car show in Manchester CT. This time I am not entering the car for a trophy. In the past three years I won best in class 3 times and best of show 2 years in a row. This is a peoples choice award. This year I'll let someone else take the trophies. I just hope it's not a Ford or a Chevy -
Went to Johnstown, NY Vintage Cafe showThursday nite. Over 200 cars. 2 Hudsons. Me and RB (recent WTN article)
