    Hi, I have a '37 T utility coupe with a '36 212 6 cyl engine. My fan belt is coming apart. Does anyone have a modern NAPA or Carquest part number for this? Thanks!

    My '36' with a 212 engine uses a Gates TR24449 Green Stripe 17A1140, there is also a 43455 number on it. One of those ought to do.

    Well the Gates catalog lists a TR24438 belt for a '36 Terraplane, but if the 212 six is in a Hudson the Gates catalog lists a TR28454. Go figure.

    Dimensions

    TR24438 = 43.75" x 0.75" x 36 degrees

    TR24449 = 44.94" x 0.75" x 36 degrees

    TR28454 = 45.36" x 0.875" x 36 degrees

    If you want a plain black fan belt with no stripes a Gates 551 would be it.

    Gates 551 is a obsolete number. It has been replaced by TR24449.

    I went out and checked where my belt puts the generator adjustment screw, and it is just about dead center. So it seems to be the proper length.

    Hi, I bought the fan belt Scott recommended, and it fits perfectly. Thanks for the tip!
