308 & Hydro needed

Bought back a 47 pickup this year that I sold in 1984 to buy my wife an engagement ring. Live in Kelseyville, Ca and need a 308 motor and hydro to replace the cracked block and a hydro that was ruined when one of the owners during the 25 years towed it to Utah without disconnecting the drive shaft. Will even buy in junk car if the motor and trans are good. As close to home as possible with the diesel price here at $4.29 a gallon. Help!!!!!, please

Couple months ago I purchased a 51 Hudson Hornet parts car, with 308 engine with single barrel carb (not Twin-H) also has single range hydramatic transimission along with drive shaft/rear end. This was a desert car that was sitting many years and I don't know any history or condition of engine etc., therefore I can not answer any questions or concens about how good the condition. Obviously sitting in desert for many years items in question will require mechanical work, I don't know how far Kelseyville, CA is from my car which is located north of Las Vegas or close to Mesquite, NV. I wish you luck in finding you requirements but as back up I thought I answer your request.
