56 Fairlane -disk brakes
-
I have a 56 Fairlane and I would like to add disk brakes.I read some where
that the spindles and rear end from a 76 Ford Granda will fit.
Has anyone tried this? -
yep--a friend just put a set on his 56 ford--you need spindle/caliper/rotor--from a granada or versailles---bob
-
Thanks,Bob. Would you ask your friend if the he used the 56 ball joints or did he have to use ball joints for the Granada.
-
he slipped them on the stock balljoints
dont know if the granada/56 are the same exact part number but the taper is the same---bob -
on that granada rear----if you find a versaille parts car it has a 9 inch with disc brakes----another to watch for is a 97 explorer 8.8 HD case posi and disc----59.5 inch flange width---bob
-
Steve
if you cant find a set let me know
i have a set of versaille spindles and calipers set aside---after my friend george put his car together one of his ford fiend work buddys said he wanted a set too---i picked these up for him and he left me hanging---$90 plus shipping----check out drilled slotted rotors at rockauto for their price----bob
