Terraplane Hillclimb Movie - First Time Seen!
-
This home movie was shot by a gentleman who was employed by a public relations firm which -- in the early 1930's -- had Hudson as a client. His daughter posted this to YouTube today, and graciously alerted me.
This is a hillclimb involving at Mount Mansfield, with a '32 or '33 Essex Terraplane. I suspect it's a '33 eight, but that' s only a gut feeling. Does anyone have further information on this? Do any professional films of this event, exist?
I don't see this particular run listed in the "hillclimb winners" website at http://www.kolumbus.fi/leif.snellman/hcw5.htm . I assume this was Mt. Mansfield, Vermont.
This film, being a home movie, has of course never been seen by Hudson enthusiasts before!

[dummy me! Of COURSE it's a '32, the front fenders don't have the valence like the '33's do!] -
32 correct? looks to have a narrow tread & the hood ornament (no griffen) plus no doors on the hood side to make it a 33 8.

Liked the other two clips - the Western Regional and the theater promo. Wish I was at that theater to get a chance to win that Essex-Terraplane. heheheeh
