NOT A Member Of The H.E.T. Club ?

Nope, a 5-speed was an option then. There was a 260 V-8 5-speed '77 here locally for many years, and the guy always got the "those weren't built!" knuckleheads. He bought the car new and ordered it that was, so he had the documentation to prove his point. GM continued the 5-speed option into the downsized cars in the following years.
But, we digress!"The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings..." -
My 2 favorite years of Elky's are '59 and '68 ~ That is a nice looking Black late model Elky though - just like Hudson would have made (hehe...to stay on topic

bellbigdawg wrote:I won't order from the club store because half the stuff has it's desciption cut short so you have no idea what it is, or don't know what color. and I need to see a picture of something before I buy it. If I don't, then it seems I'm nothing but dissappointed with the item and go through lots of hassle and time and extra money to send back. bought a t-shirt from another club that described shirt with club logo on it. got it, it was on back, 2 inches long, and up by collar. what the heck is that? HET stuff could be just as dumb, I don't have a clue.
Howdy Y'all,
I take it you have never been to a HET National Meet, right?
I don't want one of everything the club store has in stock so I buy just what I like at the National Meet every year.
I think most people would agree that the Cub T-Shirts are good.
Lee Dodd is working on setting up a store web site. It does have to be approved by the BOD though, remember?
All those descriptions and pictures take time and a lot of effort, you know.
Keep up the discussions and bringing out good ideas as you also let the volunteers know that you appreciate their efforts and tell the 'managennt' of HET, too.
Good 'Change' comes best from working within the system, not outside and from afar.
That's why I am here on this discussion site today!!
Working on getting people to work for the best betterment of the club possible. huh? -
denverslim wrote:It's pretty easy to understand your confusion, Geoff. One day "the ruler of the board" trashes the club and it's members, the next he's changed his mind and is joining--to either prove his reasons for badmouthing it or make changes he deems necessary.
I have a hard time keeping up too, and I'm in the same hemisphere!
I have been sitting here for months, gritting my teeth and keeping my mouth shut through all this BS, but I gotta agree now. Hudsonkid is just like a little 5yr old. There is no way that the adults here could possible be able to understand what goes through his mind. We have all matured beyond that mentality eons ago. Although I must confess that I too have changed my mind several times in the last couple of weeks. I was going to join HET so I could be different than Hudsonkid. Now that he is joining, there is no way I would be a member of the same organization. How childish of me to think that way. I will crawl back in my shell now. Hudsonkid can add me to his "ignore" list now, because when I do come back out, it will probably be to say something else negative about him.

Well, you made the ignore list. Guess what? you also are getting reported to the moderators. One thing I don't do, is talk negatively, like this about any individuals on this board. I might be critical of someone's ideas, or the HET club, or someone's car, but I have had it with the name calling. A least I am respectful of the individual, and do not resort to this type of behavior. I have reached my limit. It's one thing to have heated debate, but I'm done with sitting back and letting you guys get away with things I don't do. Now it is time to see the standard that we are measure to, and see whether it applies to everyone, or just me. -
it is becoming obvious to me that there are different standards, to which we are measured.
So here is my unrestricted reply, Swasp76063...
Why don't you go back to your routine of "lurking". You are nothing but an internet troll, and offer nothing of value to this conversation. It shows me the level of your maturity you speak of, which is terribly LOW. You cannot match someone on a level of a fair debate, but rather bring into the equation personal characteristics of someone you are unsuccessfully trying to debate.
Wow, let's try to strike hudsonkid using AGE? how mature. Do you like to use other characteristics to argue, such as SEX, RACE, RELIGION? it really shows me your mentality, and your true interests here. I have seen people like you use this tactic, time and time again. That's the only thing you got, and only the true low life folks buy into it.
I guess if you could step into the 20th century, for a minute, you would see that society does not measure a person on these characteristics, and it was unfortunate when society did. I guess you come from a different time? well, it's still not right.
I hope you don't keep in the HET club, I would think that someone that has your backwards views of the world, would not be one that could think progressively enough for what the club needs to have in it's core membership to move forward into the 21st century. That's okay, look at it this way, member lost, member gained, no harm. I'll bring more members in to replace you, for what it's worth. You don't amount to much more than a number and $25, so I'll make up the difference.
So if you want to continue saying negative stuff, please, feel free, because since the moderation team was fore warned, and decided my feelings here, are not relevant, and they figured that I should not be offended, I felt this was my final recourse, and I will continue with this, any time you feel the need to be negative towards me or another member on this forum. it's not a challenge, it is a promise. Next round will not be as friendly...
So, take care Swasp76063, you are a waste of bandwidth. -
Again, let me ask the few on this forum that are so inclined to insult and defame others, please do it privately via email or PMs. Nobody benefits from negativity and those of us who are HET club members do not appreciate the bad image such activities cast on our club and the good members of this forum. Please, let's be gentlemenly and get beyond rudeness. We're here to talk about Hudsons, not to bicker.

Right on the button Dave.If you're stuck in a hole, stop digging. -
DAVE AND GEOFF could'nt be any more right. I would only hope that their advice is taken and self applied by ALL on the forum. One should consider the veiws of all who see our coments BEFORE we make them. Bud

Certainly does not give us Hudson guys Down Under a good image of the way members / non members of the Hudson Club in the USA act. Folk from other marques who read these comments must think we are a club in turmoil. As has been suggested previously PLEASE do this by private email, so we don't have to put up with this bickering.

Thanks Dave. Its all about helping one another ,and We have been doing it . Lets keep it up.
Hudsonly to all Rudy and ALL of the local Hudson owners.
