is this really worth it

    whould a 1978 cougar 71,000 original miles, all original leather, tilt and power stearing, chery red white leather 350 block in it. is it really worth $6000.00

    It would have a 351, not a 350. Colors are right. I think it would bring $6K if it was in pristine shape and to the right buyer, though. I'd figure $4K to as much as $7K, assuming everything on the car works.



    One thing in its favor, too, is that it is the last of the "big" Cougars. It, along with the T-Bird, were downsized the following year to that horrible little boxy POC body! The earlier cars are definitly more desirable with the '70s collectors.

    Fact is, EVERYTHING from the late '70s and back (plus certain '80s cars) are going up in value. Considering a complete, junk full-sized car is worth $400-$500 going across the scales these days in many parts of the US, finding a nice '70s era car for less than $2K or so is getting to be impossible. That '78 Cougar with the right options will bring what is being asked for it.:p

    Yes that car would cost more than that , if you bought it when you made this poll, now it would be much more. Look here
