ford 300 engine

    hi i have a 1978 300 engine and i have a problem with it the motor gets in a bind and chews up startes and flywheel like they are going out of style i have replace almost everything on this motor and im in the process of putting new cam and lifters in it i have a funny suspetion it could be a bent valve and is it verry likey any help would be much apprectiated as this engine

    is costing a arm and leg and still getting no results thanks again

    A bent valve will cause the car to run rough but not crank so hard that it ruins the starter. Are you saying that the engine cranks hard? Is the car cold at the time? Hot? Have you had the starter checked? Have you checked the alignment of the starter?

    im just saying i can turn the engine over with a wrench as im it rotating it hits a tuff area that its more harder to rotate it takes more power to get it to turn past this point and on my fly wheels its damaged its usually just that one are that is damaged it is cold at the time usually when i start it but when i get a new flywheel i get a few good starts be fore it gets baddly damged teeth i have tried all the starter tricks and i have used so manny new starters auto zone freaks out if they see me coming with a starter lol once the engine gets started though it runs great thats what has me baffled hope this info helps you thanks agin for any help

    sounds like a valve may not be opening to me. does this happen every time you get a full revolution on the motor??

    yes every 360 degree revolution it does it
