Problem with Exaughst headers
-
I have a problem is finding replacement exaughst headers for a 1972 Le Mans. The problem lies in the fact that it has a chevy 350 instead of a pontiac built engine becuase it was built in Canada. This creats a problem in which headers designed for the specific model of car(gto/tempest/lemans) does not fit the chevy engine and the headers that fit the chevy engine will not fit the engine compartment. Any information you could give me would be greatly apreciated or if you know which chevy a-body is closest to a Le Mans.
Thanks, -
hey i was looking at some photos and it's looking like its the camaro. if anything else you can go with block hugger shorties or regular shorties
-
Alright thanks alot!
-
If the Canadian LeMans body is the same as the U.S. LeMans body, the closest a-body Chevy is the Chevelle, not the Camaro. The Firebird is Pontiac's version of the Camaro, not the Lemans.
Good luck finding headers. -
well i am a ford guy. i just happen to own a chevy. but if you cannot find any long tub headers then block hugger shorties or just regular shorties are the way to go
-
There are also several custom made headers by hooker or hedmann that are really good and fit in really tight places. Give them a call!
The build custom models for many aplications.
