Power Assist
-
I looked through posts for "power brakes" and found 2 posts with some great information.
What I'm wondering is "Is it worth adding a power assist unit to the braking system?"
Has anyone done this with an underfloor unit as opposed to a thru-the-firewall unit? If so what was it like installing?
Thanks -
Can't say about first time installation, but I have both Packards and a'57 Hudson. The Packards bolt in through the firewall and the '57 Hornet under the floor. Pros and cons for both. While the Packard unit keeps one from having to get under the car, the lines/fittings are tight and the brake pedal, accelerator have to be removed to pull out the big bracket. On the '57, the way it is installed, one of the four mounting bolts is a pain.
