I think I can say with absolute certainty that yours will be the first.

Wouldn't it be easier just to put a Hudson hood ornament on a Lambo? LOL

I often wondered what a stepdown 4 door w/ suicided doors would look like (probably have to strengthen the quarter area to support the weight of the door), though the lambo idea I can't picture. I'm wondering if the doors aren't too big and when opened they'd look like a condor ready for take off. Doesn't mean it can't be done, saw it on a Disco II once.

4 door w/suicides would look like this (I'm not sure why the doors angle upward though...)

I actually think the doors (at least the fronts) are too short and squatty looking for a Lambo flip up.

I like the 2 doors opening opposite, like my ol' 64 Continental. Would the lambo's require extra strengthening? I'm not too familiar with those. It would certainly be different and I reserve my opinion until I saw it. Would the fronts swing up and forward and the rears swing up and rearward?

There were three guys from Susanville or Alturas, CA who each had a chopped Hudson, and went together to shows around the northwest, 10 or 15 years ago- I think one of those had gull-wing type doors, but can't remember for sure. I only knew the name of one of the three- Norm Willingham- Susanville, I think. Not sure if he's still among us, or not.

I think it would be a neat mod on something like a Stepdown, or even a chopped Merc. If you do it, that woulld be something to see...especially in the WTN!!! I'm sure that'll lock up a member or two!

Increase your insurance - you know how many people would rap their heads on swing up doors. Not to mention the dirty looks you'd get taking up 3 parking places!!! LOL

Sounds like a mod for really short guys with excessivly long arms, unless you have electric closers. I was just trying to imagine the gull wing doors on my Pacemaker, on the roof of which at factory ride height I can comfortably rest my arms.

The reason the doors angle up is that the mounting surfaces angle in.

If you guys need something to do, I've got a 39, a 49 and a 50 that need restoration.

I'm working on my 5th, a 46 PU and starting on my 6th, a 40 Country Club Eight Coupe.

    Driving a 36T, a 47PU, a 49C and a 52HH

This morning I saw a current Chrysler 300C sedan with lambo style front doors??? Which means I guess that lambo doors have to be do-able for a stepdown as well.
