Faded Interior
-
Hi,
I've been rebuilding a 1976 Mustang Cobra II. I've recently been putting the interior back together, and because of their huge back windows all of my plastic interior pieces are faded. I can tell that they have been painted before. I didn't really know how to do it so I took some high grit sandpaper and tried a spot on the concealed side, but it tore the plastic up. I would be grateful for any suggestions.
Thanks -
Sandpaper will tear up the plastic. Your best bet is to clean the pieces with some good cleaner and then wipe them down with wax and grease remover, then spray them with a paint that has a flex agent in it. Maybe useing a clear over that will help to retard the fade in further years.
Good luck

Check the Eastwood website. They have all sort of restoration stuff.
