Early stepdown pinion seal
-
The only number I can find on the net is National 47331. Can someone confirm this as correct for '49 Thanks
-
The numbers I have are National 6487 or CR17177. The specs are O/D 3.066, I/D 1.713
Geoff.If you're stuck in a hole, stop digging. -
My National catalog lists the following for pinion seal: 50812 1948 w/cone type dirt shield. 50757 1948-49 w/flat dirt shield. And 6487 for 1950-52. And 5778 for 1953 incl Jet. My catalog listings stop at 1953. Gert

Are all these readily available? I didn't want to pull the seal to check for a number if its going to take awhile to get.
-
Call Dave Kostansek, Williamsfield Motors, Number is in the classified section of The WTN or do a search on this forum. I just bought one for my '52, he had them in stock. You could also check with Dale Cooper or Bill albright.boothguy wrote:Are all these readily available? I didn't want to pull the seal to check for a number if its going to take awhile to get. -

I did a search on the forum and also Ken Cates and Dave Sollons sites and that was the only number I came up with which was for a 51. I was hoping to do the job today while I have access to a lift if the seal is commonly available
