Paint Color Suggestions Solicited - Hornet Club Coupe

Earlier this week, high winds (50mph) blew a portable basketball goal over next to my shop. Naturally, my cream yellow Club Coupe was parked nearby. The goal scraped paint off the roof, as well as a dent, then moved on down to perform similar surgery on the sun visor and hood. Ever since I've owned this car, I've thought it would benefit from a two-tone paint combination (see car picture below):

Since the top will need a repaint, this is the time to switch color if it makes sense.
I had in mind a lighter cream color to contrast with the yellow, or possibly even a slightly darker top (and visor).
Wonder if anyone has such a combination (coupe or sedan) and could email me a picture? phil at auldridge.org
And, of course, I'd appreciate opinions from all of you about how this would look compared to a single solid color. -
If it would be me, I would keep her the cream yellow. It looks very nice the way it is. Also you would not have to repaint the whole car, you could get the paint blended on the roof, both quarters and the A-pillars.Christopher

I agree. Keep it all the same color. That car is beautiful, the way she is. So sorry to hear about the damage. -
A lot of folks will tell you to paint it whatever color you want and that it's yours to do what you want with. That certainly is the ultimate truth, but I will say this -- there are others like me who tend to lean towards the purist side of things and really prefer stock factory color choices. There are enough of them for most people to choose from, as well a factory two tone offerings. When I look at a Hudson that has non-original colors on it, and especially one that has a clownish two tone treatment (like two colors on the hood) I see it as a devalued. Sometimes only a little devalued, sometimes so devalued that I wouldn't be seen in it. You probably have no plans to sell your car at the moment, but when you stray too far from the original look of your Hudson, I think that you risk loosing some resale value when the time comes to move on to your next car. For me, and I'm sure some others who don't care for non-stock looking paint jobs, it's best to not even consider buying the car because the cost of a paint job is so very high. Others will disagree with me on that point and that's fine. Your car looks like It was painted a close match to Cornish Cream which was a relatively bold and sporty color back in the day. I'm pretty sure that it was never offered as part of a two tone combination. I've seen one or two sedans in that color which I, at least, thought looked sort of odd. But on the other hand , I think it alone the is the classiest looking color you could have on a coupe or a convert.

Okay, I'm convinced to keep it the same color as it is. I must admit I was having a difficult time thinking of a proper contrasting color. I wouldn't want darker, yet anything lighter might just look like someone mismatched the color!
"Doc" went to the body shop today for an estimate.. we're sticking with the cream yellow.
If there's a bright side to this, turns out the only blemish(s) on the car were identical bubbles in the paint on the front right and left corner of the hood, so at least that will get taken of.

With those bubbles you talk about, that is rust coming through from the inside. Those sections must be cut out to remove all rust metal. Then repainted and the inside of the front section that holds the hood hold down must be undercoated, as that is were water settles. Take notice on all hoods, 48 to 54 and you will see bubbles. It's a rust spot since day one. Walt.
