1940 Hudson Radio

Hello Hudson Folks,
I need your help. Way back in 1940 there were a lot of optional items for our Hudson cars, including radios. I have a 1940 Hudson 2 Door Sedan that I would like to install a radio in. I have acquired an original radio for the car, but no speaker came with the radio. I can get a speaker but I don't have information on how the radio and speaker were installed.
Do any of you have literature on how to install a radio in the 1940? Can you refer me to someone that might know how to do this. Do any of you that own 1940 Hudson's have original radio's in them? If so can you help me get information about the installation? I spoke with the people at Classic Car Speakers today and they can provide me with a compatible 4 ohm speaker but they need to know how it gets installed so they can provide the correct mounting bracket along with the speaker.
Any help with be appreciated.

I'm not sure, but didn't those radios usually come as a speaker/radio unit? I know they did for 41-47. I know other cars were also built this way. For example, 46-48 Cadillac -
No the 40 radio is actually two parts connected by an 18 inch 10 pin cable. One piece is the dial and preset buttons and contains 2 tubes and the other is the receiver that contains 4 tubes. The speaker was connected via a 4 pin plug. There is a cutout on the top of the dash for the dial portion and the receiver bolts through the firewall. I think the speaker bolts into the front of the dash just below the dial.

Thank you very much this information is exactly what I needed. I knew about the Maroney Tech Library, but for some reason it just did not come to mind when considering this.
Now I need to find all the suppression equipment to eliminate the engine noise.
Anyone know where I can find the condensers etc.?
