Come and browse the new Hudson Photo Gallery!
-
As Alex noted, the new Hudson Photo Gallery is up and running here at the H-E-T website. To view it, just go to the homepage of the H-E-T Club's website ( hetclub.org ) and click the "Gallery" link at the top right of the page.
If you don't see the link, you're not signed in (or maybe even registered) with the H-E-T website. It's easy to do, whether you're an H-E-T Club member or just a visitor. Simply follow the instructions at the bottom of the homepage.
Our previous photo gallery made its home in a succession of free photo sites, the latest of which was Multiply. http://hudsonpix.multiply.com/ Each site eventually folded, and we moved on to another. Now Multiply is shutting down its photo site as well, but we decided --finally!-- to get our very own photo gallery.
If you posted Hudson-related photo albums to the Multiply gallery, why not re-create those albums at the new Gallery? You'll find that the software is easy to use. In fact, if you have somehow misplaced the original photos you owned, we may be able to help you get them back. (Contact me at HETdetailed@verizon.net about that; delete the HET before sending the e-mail, though!)
You may want to create an entirely new album and upload Hudson-related photos to them, and we encourage you to do that. Please, though: give the album a theme and keep the photos related to that particular theme. Also, please take the time to add explanatory captions to each photo, so those viewing them can gain full enjoyment and understanding of what you're showing them. -
I've said this in a previous post - but this new Gallery is so user friendly it's scary!!! I'm no computer guru, far from it. You will note the albums I've posted. It's quick, it's easy - you just have to remember to "Save Changes" when you add photo's or captions - if you don't you'll hae to redo what you didn't save!!! And, of course, the all important "Publish". There are directions on the Gallery home page - in my case I printed them out and followed them religiously. Worked just great. If only uploading my literature scans were so easy I'd really be a happy hudson-nut.
Hudsonly,
Alex Burr

Jon, I have logged in 3 different times and even changed my password but cannot see the gallery. I can go anywhere else on the site with no problem, at least I think I'm logging in as it doesn't say anything to let me know if I logged in successfully or not so I asume I did. Richie.
-
@Richie - Here is what you should see -
- Yellow circle, the Gallery link;
- Orange circle - Where you should see your name shown;

Hi Rick, I just tried again, and it looks like I can't log in as my name doesn't appear at all. I logged in last week and payed my dues thru paypal. I tried my new password and old password but my name never appeared. I'll call or email them to find out whats wrong. Thanks Rick. Richie.
-
Richie - Paying your dues on the website is one step in the process. You need to register as well.
Click the link below, for instructions on registering on the HET Club website. Make sure to follow the 'Current HET Club Members' area of the instructions -
http://www.hetclub.org/index.php?option=com_kunena&view=topic&catid=28&id=36&Itemid=594
If you have issues, send an email to XXXmembership@hetclub.org (remove the XXX from the email address).
-
Rick, I opened an account back when I paid the dues. I e-mailed the HET last night and got an e-mail back this morning from Aaron, everything works fine now. I logged in twice and it worked fine.
Thank you very much for your assistance Rick. Richie. -
I logged into the HET.org site but I don't see a gallery link anywhere. I wonder what I'm doing wrong.
-
Rob, are you sure you've successfully logged in? (See Rick's screen shot above, to see where your own name should appear under Club Login).
-
Yes Jon, right below "Club Login" , it says "Hi Rob Fayette" , but up above ,there is no "Gallery" to the right of the word "Forum", like it shows in Ricks' screen shot.
-
I tried to sign in on the HET site and it said my email address is invalid. I don't know how it can say that as it is my email address. I couldn't make any progress at all and gave up in frustration.
Geoff Blake -
Rob, I'll report this to the proper authorities. I'm sorry you're experiencing this annoyance and we'll do our best to determine what's happened.
Geoff, were you registering as an H-E-T Club member, or as a non-member? If as a member, then is the e-mail address with which you registered, the same one that you sent the Club when you last renewed (or when you joined)? If different, therein lies the "invalidity". -
I had a hard time getting signed up too. It seemed like I was in an endless loop that kept asking me to sign up, but I had just signed up, or so I thought. Somehow, a moderator named Aaron, could see I was trying to get signed up .and he sent me an email and tried to help me. After 2 emails ,I asked him if he could just sign me up, and then send me the name and password he used. He did that, and finally it seemed to work. He said if I had any more trouble to email
HETwebmaster@hetclub.orgHETmembership@hetclub.org. (Remove the HET). Rob -
Rob, I'm glad the moderator was able to help you, and I'm sorry for your frustrating experience. (Incidentally, that moderator named Aaron also happens to be the President of the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club!)
-
Jon B, the email I gave them is the only one I have and if I have ever given the club my email address before, it was this same one. I'm sure I tried to register as an HET member, though I don't specifically recall it asking me that.
Geoff Blake -
@Middletom - Geoff, as indicated above, email HETmembership@hetclub.org (Remove the HET). Include any and all personal details (full name, address, etc.,) that will get you to Aaron, and he can assist you. Please be patient, he's as busy as a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest... LOL!
Addendum: Modified email address - Am registered, so have not actually used the contact email address, just used the information in post(s) above. My apologies for the confusion! -
I just tried to cantact Aaron and the sign popped up saying that Windows cannot find "webmaster@hetclub.org". I typed it in just as shown in this thead, but it would not go through. I left off the HET at the beginning, to no avail.
Geoff Blake -
Geoff: try XXXmembership@hetclub.org (delete the three X's first). Sorry about all these deleted characters at the front, but we're trying to defend ourselves against the dreaded SpamBots!
-
No, Jon, that is no more successful.
Geoff Blake -
Geoff, I'm checking it out to see if it works for me...
-
@middletom
A test email was sent to XXXmembership@hetclub.org (remove the XXX) - Aaron responded, so the contact email is working... -
In that case, Geoff, either your computer or your internet connection might be having "issues". When you attempted to send the e-mail to "membership" did you receive a failure to deliver notice, or did you simply get to reply to the e-mail?
-
reference the gallery. It does not show up on home page when i sign in?
dont no why as it says hi steve bishop?
anybody help me with this?
steve -
On my screen, if you pass your mouse pointer over the blank area just above the graphics of the 2013 National Meet Hotel, both "Forum" and "Gallery" pop up and you then can connect with which ever feature you want.Jerry

nothing happens when i try that 53jetman
-
Mine acts the same way as Steves', nothing happens when I pass the mouse pointer over the blank area as 53jetman suggests. Rob
-
All I can suggest is, that if you are encountering problems please send an e-mail to our webmaster at HETmembership@hetclub.org (delete the HET), explaining the problem as accurately as you can. I'm sure he'll be able to help you.

There are already 29 photo albums and 673 individual photos in the new Photo Gallery! Come over and browse! http://hetclub.org/index.php?option=com_simgallery&view=latestalbums
(Note: you must be logged into the H-E-T website before you can open the gallery. If you're not, you can always visit our old gallery at http://hudsonpix.multiply.com/ -- until the Multiply photo galleries are shut down.
