Gus Grissom Corvette Roadster
-
Hi all,
Gus Grissom's Corvette Roadster, a brass hat example, was sold at Scottsdale over the weekend, here is my article covering the results:

Feedback very much welcome.
Thanks

I am thinking that the price is based more on year/condition of the Corvette rather than the owner. That is just my thoughts. I know the first few years that I was at the cape you would often see his and Alan's car parked in their parking spots and not think that much about them. A lot of the upper crust of the NASA programs drove them as did a lot of fighter pilots. Many of my friends drive them today--and they were not given to them and they are not part of the rich or pampered class.Brownie

Haha, that's a great little story. You were at the cape? was that working there or otherwise?www.paulfrasercollectibles.com

My work was with the Solid Rocket Boosters for the Space Shuttle. I started visits to the Cape in 1967 while still with the Air Force. I would be there for a week to three months at a time several times a year until I retired in 2010. I supported both of the accident investigations and spent about two years "on the road" prior to the Columbia "return to flight" effort. The last five months before I retired were spent at the Cape assembling and testing the ARES motor systems. I always wanted to relocate there but my company liked it better when I would travel around?Brownie
