-
There are four Huds for sale at this year's B-J in Scottsdale:

-- a 1949 Super Six that gavelled for $44,000: http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=749&aid=466
-- a 1929 Sports Phaeton: http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=1003.1&aid=466
-- an Italia: http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=5035&aid=466 -
Rare bird, that Italia. Since they were all built in 1954 this one has to be one of a kind being a 1955 model.
At least the prices on the '49's are realistic, more or less.

Alex I was under the impresion they actualy titled them as 55 models . Not sure where I got that info from or when I heard it. So I cant prove it ,

According to a Wickpedia article (Hudson Italia) the car was introduced 14 January 1954. The article does state, just before that entry, that it was subsequently marketed by American Motors Corporation during the 1954 and 1955 model years.
However, the side bar says 1953-1954. Take yer choice. I say they were 1954 models - that's my story and I'm sticking to it until the election results come in - or the fat lady sings. :D

the '29 dual cowl far more rare than an Italia!
This is one that John Soneff "handled" a couple of times, I recognize it from the Wyo. plates; it may have been the one Zach Brinkerhoff used to own.
I believe this car & a Club Sedan (also 139" w.b., bodied by Biddle & Smart like the dual cowl) that John owned at the time were the ones on display at a National in Denver decades ago; they made an incredible pair, parked side by side. -
Chris, The History of Hudson shows them first with the 1954 model cars.Brownie

so the 29 and 54-55 didn't sell
or have an opening price?
