Stepdown door hinge interchange?
-
Are Hollywood door hinges interchangeable with stepdown 4dr door hinges or Brougham door hinges?
Lee O'Dell -
Hi Lee,
Hollywood and Conv. are the same. Sedans and coupes, broughams will not work.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Ric.

I'm helping a friend with his 52 Hollywood. Does anyone have a driver side upper door hinge for 52 Hollywood willing to part with? Much of the hinge is rusted away. Maybe about 1/3 the thickness it once was. Strange how the door is ok but the hinge is rusting away. I've never seen a hinge eaten away like that.
Lee O'Dell -
Lee the sedan hinge will work, just has a smaller diameter pin. They are usually in better shape do to the door weighing less. But it is nice to knock the old pin out and ream to a larger .342 pin size as what was on the 2 door models

Thank you Russmass. That is encouraging news. Should be no problem finding a hinge now.

Originaly there was a small metal plate over the hinge & screws to make the door gasket seal better. Caused a lot of them to rust like that ,I have 3 parts cars here with the top hinge broke in halfe there. But we have a lot more rust issues in the midwest that other parts of the country.
