254 Engine Color
-
I am trying to identify the correct color combination for a '50 254. My engine appears to have been repainted a long time ago, it has a silver cylinder head and the rest is an olive drab.
Does anyone know if this the correct color? -
Nope that OD green was not an option from Hudson. lol. The correct color for your 254 is silver

I've had good experience with Dupli-Color's 500 degree engine paint Aluminum color. Matches the original Hudson silver very well. If you want the original look, don't lay it on too heavily, as it'll hide the granularity of the cast iron material.

Aluminum silver engine enamel.

Thank you very much, the head is still the right color so I will go from there.

Well, with the hood closed, only the engine knows, but with it open, I prefer the red/gold combo, so most of my engines are that way. Yas, I know it's not original. Only my Terraplane and truck are silver.
This one is in my 40 coupe.
