I just asked if the seller had documentation of the movie credit.

However, I don't think they will respond. I told them I thought the movie cars was animated and featured a Hudson Hornet not the Super.

I did add that I will check IMDB just in case I missed a movie.

These prices, and that '52 sedan on another post going for $178K are pretty much the reason a few of us cannot afford the cars any more - this has been the case since the speculators priced the more common Fords and Chevys out of the market. Once they ran thru Mopars and a few other more common makes they zero'd in on Hudson because they were available at a decent price. Then the auctions drove the prices out of whack.
Don't take this post to mean I fault any of our members for selling at higher-than-realistic prices - If I had a, say, Hornet I'd originally bought for, say, $20,000 and some fruit loop offered me $75,000 or so for it I'd probably laugh all he way to the bank.
But thank you - I'll stick to my computer generated literature collection and try to get as much as I can before prices force me out of the market. And thank you most heartedly to all those who have loaned, sold to me at dirt prices and in general have helped me obtain the literature to scan. We can always use more.

I always thought that BJ are appropriate initials for a car auction company.

I've just emailed the seller, suggesting that in the interest of his credibility he back off on the "Cars" connection. And change the engine size and take some pic's with the skirts in place. Other than that ... .

Al Saffrahn & I went to one of these "auctions" a few years ago; it's not an auction, it's a circus to garner $$$ by BJ. To park less than 1/4 mi. away, you pay to park, then you pay to get into the auction tent, then you pay for the auction catalog & of course if you actually intend to bid on some overpriced overhyped item, they get a nice % of that action too.
I can't imagine a worse place to buy a car ~

just looked at the photos - think it takes a lot of whatever to ask that for that car unless really "right", which it isn't - interior fabric wrong, dash been most inappropriately refinished (who ever did it too cheap to get it regrained), after-market heat gauge, later steering wheel & undoubtedly other non-original work done to it.
