    LOVE that pic of the '28! They're seemingly doing a valve job, you can see the head off & on the ground plus the carb. & air cleaner. You can see the hand crank to turn the engine inserted too (wonder where the crankhole cover is????, LOL). It has bumpers, something someone added.
    Has '34 Calif. plates & you can see the eucalyptus trees in the background so car would be 6 years old.
    I'd deem it a '28 as believe the '27 headlamps smaller diameter.

    A really interesting & historic photo. Looking carefully at the photo again you'll see the Hudson has a cloth top & landau bars so a more expensive model (doesn't have "wires" tho).
    Supposition: due to 3 men obviously living in tents would assume they're "Grapes of Wrath" "Okies" in Calif., undoubtedly bought the Hudson used someplace. Of course they could be locals who've lost everything & living "On the Road" (which is soon to come out; if for no other reason want to see the movie to see the Hudson in it).

    The dealership photo was the Henley-Kimball dealership in Portland, Maine. Henley-Kimball had dealerships all over New England from the 1920's into the 1950's. I think there was one in Providence, RI, but not sure. Going back into the teens there was one in Worcester, MA, Portland and Bangor, ME - the main dealership was, at one time on Commonwealth Avenue (think that's right) in Boston, MA.
    The buildings in the Portland dealership were servicing AMC for a while and later foreign cars of some sort after the 1960's.

    Here are some from my city, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The Freeman Company was in business from 1913 to the start of WW2, (1939).
