Beautiful mid-summer day. Went for a drive up to the river in the '28 Essex. Caught a 5 pound trout. Came home, picked ripe cherries and raspberries from my garden. Family all coming home for Christmas. Just finished rebuilding '29 Hudson engine, runs superbly. Doesn't get much better than this! Merry Christmas to all.

Geoff can I come to NZ to live? Been looking at Germany, Switzerland, and Denmark, but have been hearing good things about NZ. America is going down the toilet at a dizzying pace, I want to leave. Have a nice Christmas! mine wont be so great. Regards, Kenneth

Merry Christmas from me and BJ (the cat), Geoff. Having a heat wave in Memphis - temps in the 60's and 70's, tho a cold snap down into the 40's by the end of the week. :O

Merry Christmas Geoff and I've been wanting to tell you how much I enjoyed your last installment in the White Triangle News "Cars I Have Owned". That was one of the most enjoyable articles of any kind I've read in the mag in quite some time. I grew up riding in the back seat of a '53 Hornet and have wild tales of standing on the tunnel and flipping over the front seat when my dad snapped an axle on a quick take off, and various others. I love people's stories about their cars. Would love to see more of that type of thing in the magazine. Again Merry Christmas and thanks again for an extremely enjoyable article.
Best Regards,

I got a great Christmas present this year!!! Been having trouble with the refrigerator, older model, that came with the rental. Landlord got another, newer but used, to replace it. Trouble is can't seem to get the temp in the freezer below 20º. So the landlord says he'll get a new one right after the 1st of the year - because I'm a good tenant!!!

Merry Christmas, Geoff --- would love to see you at San Mateo next year if you're up to it.

Merry Christmas Geoff. And thanks for so many laughs and very informative posts through the years.
It's almost as warm here in Central Florida.. It really doesn't get cold until Jan-feb. Not complaining... just bragging a bit. -
Merry Christmas Geoff and to all in the HET club. I like Ken would like to come and live in NZ. Cant believe how crazy this country has become, the country my family and past generations have fought to preserve so the current ones can fush it down the toilet. Blizzard warning from 6 PM today till 6 PM tommorrow. Calling for 8-12 inches of snow with 45 MPH winds. Picking cherries and rasberries sound much better.

The sun is out & shining with warmth. I'm about to go & roll out the welcome mat just as soon as I've finished washing the Essex. Come on over at least for a visit & see how things are here. But please don't bring guns - we treasure our (essentially) gun free society, although plenty of folk go bush & shoot various types of deer & wild pig.Dave Y

I see that NZ is one of the top ten best places to live. Would like to see it. I wont bring my 357 Mag. that I used years ago when I was a part time county deputy. Some of the guys had 44 Mag. Never had to use it on anyone only to finish off a deer or cow that had been hit by a car. I used only hollow point bullets, small hole in large hole out, didnt want to kill someone in the next county when I fired it. 44 Mag would bust the block of engine in a car if you hit it in the rightplace. (except a Hudson block LOL)

I can't believe it! Dave, of split rim fame, is actually washing his Essex! If you're stuck in a hole, stop digging.

When you have visited N.Z. you MUST come to Australia, especially New South Wales, we have the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge ( which you can climb) Bondi Beach, Hyams Beach on the south coast which has the whitest sand in the world, the southern highlands, the Blue Mountains we have Kangaroos, Koalas just to name a few.And on a side, we have PLENTY of Kiwi's that come over here for a better life style.......... Sorry Geoff.

I have to agree with Les, the land of Oz is indeed a blessed country. I have two of my own family living there, and we visit every year. Their economy is boosted by the large number of our brightest and best migrating over there to fill the large number of jobs and good money to be made. It is arguable whether it is a "better" lifestyle, but the opportunities are certainly there. And they certainly have lot more Hudsons than we have, with many unique to Australia. No Jets though! If you're stuck in a hole, stop digging.

Geoff,
I went fishing this morning with my Hudson and caught a fish also.

Thats a good picture. Thats what a car would look like in my area except instead of a fish it would be a deer or cow. lol
