Lincoln Mark IV and Hudson Essex comparison
-
I was reading an old article written by Tom McCahill in the Dec 71 Mechanix Illistrated. A comment he made about his road test of the new 1972 Lincoln Mark IV powered by 460 cubic inches, "... it would have a hard time outjumping an old Hudson-Essex".
Lee O'Dell -
I don't suppose Uncle Tom was referring to jump-starting which I've had to do many times to Hudsons I've owned. LOL
-
Having had a Cadillac (1996 Model) I found it to be a good road car. I've ridden in Lincolns of that 1970's era and found those to be much better than the Caddy. Fellow posted on the forum the other day about a 1973, as I recall, Lincoln 2-door - if I'd had the $1800 he was asking I would have had it in my driveway. Would prefer a Hudson - but Lincoln comes in 2nd place.

My brother Dan still has the 1970 Mark III Lincoln he bought in 1971. The car has about 48,000 miles. Nice car but my brother prefers to drive one of his Hudsons. I think he might be going through a second mid-life crisis. He is looking to buy a Porsche Boxter. What does a white haired 71 year old new one of those for. LOL

HE WANTS TO IMPRESS THE "BABES"..LOL

I have a friend that had the Boxter urge 2 or 3 years ago. The urge rapidly left when he found out that to do much more than change the oil the engine had to come out. At least that's the reason that he gave for not buying one.
