OK, I have too much fun with this stuff and too much time for unimportant data. So with some of the suggestions on the color for my car (by the way, the original color was a shade of cream or grey that simply looks white to me?) from my previous post this is where I am at: The photo that have is the color I decided to paint with. The article that I have attached was too long for a post so it is now an attachment. Go ahead and guess the color of the wheel then read the article..... (Yes, I know it is not the right hub cap--it just made the photo better.

Yep, Thunderbird Red from 1970, as suggested in a post early on, will be the color that I go with. I will go with a white top, and today SMS sent me a sample of "hounds tooth" material in red and white. It is a bit smaller than the original hounds tooth fabric used by Hudson, but it is a contender. Loving the process...

Attached a picture of a nice 54 Hornet Coupe in white over red. Also a Duralee fabric swatch picture of fabric similar to that used in some 54 Hudson interiors.

I would love to know the color data for the car above. Right now I am planning to use the color of the wheel above. I have been getting ready to start up the car. I still need to drop the oil pan and check out the lower half of the engine. The engine is turning free and the parts that I have pulled and rebuilt were all in excellent shape. The fields on the generator lookes as if the part was new. Anyway, should start it up in the next few weeks and check out to see how it is.

This was the only hubcap I had left over from other stepdowns. I have some leads out on some of the parts I need and should finish up with all the missing parts soon.

Brownie, it is Lipstick, code 184 for 1954 Hudson. Page 495 in the 48 - 54 service manual, I just threw away a hardened gallon of it in RM paint. You can get it from PPG.

I was going to paint one of my 54's that color and sold it before I got around to it
