Paint Color suggestions for my 40 Coupe

    Can't decide what color to paint the 40 Coupe.

    Already have a Green/Black Terraplane
    Black Truck
    Red/Maroon Commadore
    Black/Boston Cream Hornet

    Don't want to duplicate them. Originally thought about Black Cherry or something dark to set off the chrome, but painted some lockers for Mrs C, JD Yellow, and kinda like it. Has black wheels and blackwalls with small hub caps. Brown cloth inside.

    Ol Stan Lupka always painted his 299.9 ci (308 crank in a 262 block and bored to keep under the 300 in track limit to get rid of the 308s that were beatin everybody) Super Hornet #16 stock cars yellow so they could see him in the dust. He was track champion at 5 mi Point for years.

    But I digress.

    Pink - light upper, dark lower??? There was a 46 or 47 coupe at one of the National meets painted like that - with a pink interior. Looked rather neat - and different.

    White on brown(white exterior, brown/black interior)..you don't see many white ones, if its not stock you could spice the white up with some silver pearl

    Silver and gray metallic tutone. Looks classy.. did a Packard that way. Once upon a time. :-*

    VW has some beautiful metallic gray's. Medium gray on upper and dark gray on bottom. The dark gray looks black until you get close.

    Cream and green , like they put on the depression era stoves.Saw a Chevy truck painted that way, really matched the time period

    Why don't you get a '40 color chart and pick something which appeals to you?

    I go along with ArkieJazz. Of course I'm one of those old "Stick in the Muds" that happen to like them original colors.
