If a 53 coupe came w/TH would it have a THP emblem on the deck? Not sure if some1 added TH,or deck lid has been changed or WTF. Would it indicate on vin if it was factory TH...a bit confused here.

Twin-H emblem would have been on the trunk if car sold with it. Would not have been on VIN #.
If has emblem but no Twin-H on motor probably the Twin H manifold was replaced or maybe entire engine. # on the block will be the same as VIN #, if not, engine been changed.

That does not mean the car would be concidered not "Correct" if that is what your worried about. At least in my opinion ,due to the fact the Twin-H is an option you can buy and add no different than a tissue dispenser,

Sometimes the Twin H emblem was removed, or lost during repainting or body work. If it did have the emblem, there will be three small holes in the trunk lid about 4-5" apart. If the car had been repainted, the holes most likely were filled. Sometimes if you look at the underside of trunk lid on some of these Hornets you will see filler, or maybe welds where the holes were. This emblem is usually placed just above the trunk lock/ Hudson emblem housing. If no holes are evident, then the car had Twin H added after it was sold. A reproduction emblem was available from Kgap, but not sure if it is still available. It does not look exactly like the original, as it is thicker and reinforced at bottom. The originals are known to break because of the thin material between the letters. Maybe, just maybe I can convinced Steve Traudt to cast some new repros of the original style Twin H emblems. How much demand would there be? If we can sell at least 20-30, then it might be worth the effort, and the price within reason. Kenneth

I would be interested in it if the cost was cheaper than KGAP. Not to say theirs is too expensive, I'm just forced to build on a budget.

    Ken-

I think there is definitely a demand for the original style. I was fixin' to cut some out of brass, or see if you could on the CNC. I like the original style, myself. Would like to have one for the convertible. My best guess is you could sell 30 or so right away and probably another within a year or so, without even trying very hard. If Steve makes them, the quality would be top-drawer.

Wow, 30 plus, yeah, Steve said he can do them. but you have to wait till he gets back from his vacation in January. He has gone to the lands where there are many sunny beaches, as opposed to being stuck in the land where there are too many suns of beaches.......just a metaphor for the sad state of affairs in the US of A.
