Looking for a fan and pulley
-
Hello
I am in need of a fan and pulley for a 308 hornet engine. I can pick it up if you are near Westminster, md. I can be reached at 410-848-5234. Thanks in advance. Herman -
Check your email Herman.
-
Herman, I'm in SE Virginia. Close, but not close enough in comparing postage vs. gas. I can help with the fan blade for sure. Should have an extra pulley, too but would have to look. Let me know if you're still looking.
-
General question for Step-Downers (from the owner of a pre-historic Hudson): are the fans / pulleys unique to 308's or would any Step-Down do? Surely we can come up with one of these rather quickly in the Washington-Baltimore area.
-
All stepdowns fans are the same (6 & 8) unless someone added power steering.
-
FYI
Keep in mind an AMC Flex Fan will work on some Models too. I have one in my Hornet powered '37 Hudson... -
I have a flex fan from the auto parts store and their spacer on the 56 Hornet engine in my
1947 Hudson pick-up. -
Thanks to everyone. I am new to the Hudson family. I misread a post somewhere that I Thought was saying the 308 needed a six blade fan. Thanks for the clarification. I now believe that I can use my 4 blade fan and pulley from my parts car, which has the 212 engine. I did put it on and as you are probably know that it did indeed bolt up. Thanks again
-
Be carefull useing the 212 pulley , the diameter is different wich is no big deal. But I'm not sure the grooves line up right . Should be easy enough to see once you set it in place. If in doubt use a piece of string as a straight edge,

ok thanks

Herman - Glad to hear that have what you need. At some point I will be in a similiar situation for my 232 engine - It didn't come with a fan or pulley for the water pump.
