So from what I have read in the dozens of posts above, this is mostly speculation about cars and parts and some bad-mouthing of Jim and his wife and not much 'good' balance. The bottom line is that NO ONE appears to have made legitimate inquiry or spent the $25 for the CD inventory or a road trip to find out what is really there. And the thoughts it will all be junked or crushed when it has been appraised at $175,000 are absolutely ridiculous.
What will happen when someone saves all this massive accumulation by buying it for something close to the asking price and starts selling it for appraised value - let me guess - y'all will be griping and grumbling then just as when he was alive and wanted fair value for his time, effort, investment, storage buildings.
My question here a couple days after another Thanksgiving is when will the "Thanks" happen.
I knew Jim Harmon and he was a good and honorable man. I think this thread would have hurt him deeply and might be doing so to any family reading it.

I had a very serious discussion with Jim, before he passed away, about buying his place, Hudsons and all. I also toured the place with the group that followed Jim home after the 2001 meet in Seattle. In the end my wife and I decided that we couldn't take the rain, even though she had lived in Seattle for years before we met. He was asking a fair price for the house and land and the cars & parts. You could put 30 cars in those buildings! Jim was indeed an interesting guy and he had a real trove of Hudson parts. It would be very difficult & expensive to move the parts very far.

StillOutThere - Please realize I love this club to death and all the people in it, good, bad (not many) and indifferent. But after 43 years of great fun I have come to two conclusions about some of the members herein; 1) Hudson people are frustrated stock brokers - they want to buy low and sell high (and nothing wrong with that); and 2) there are a handful who think the prices in 40 year old price lists are what that part should sell for. I remember back in the 80's a club member who was complaining to another club member about the price the fellow had on a mint, glass tail light lens for a step-down. The complainer was saying the selling price was to high - the seller came back with "price a cheap plastic lens on todays cars!!!"
People just don't consider the time and expense involved in digging out this stuff, cataloging it, finding storage for it and hauling it to meets to try and sell.
I'm reminded of the late Larry Wellman - he missed very few old Hudson dealers in his trips around New England and New York in the 60's and 70's digging out parts from those defunct dealers. I tend to think Larry probably didn't make much of his investment back - but he at least broke even, I'm sure. And there were others in other parts of the country who, at the same time, were doing the same thing.

Folks, just FYI. I checked with Dick Riggs a couple of days ago and there is no new information right now about Harmon's estate.

None of us can here read minds, and cannot answer your question, but I am sure Mr Bomarito will answer your question, perhaps if you make a reasonable counteroffer that is not insulting. It would be best you pay the $25 for the inventory CD or arrange a visit to see the inventory.

The collection of parts and remaining card of the late Jim Harmon did NOT sell as a unit and must be removed from the premises by Dec 31st 2012. Beginning at 8 AM Friday December 28, and 29th and 30th 2012 &Monday the 31st if necessary we will assemble at Jims home 42785 NW Woolen Rd in Banks Oregon (25 miles from Portland off of Hwy 26)to move all remaining inventory about 3 miles to a storage barn.

Please bring any kind of hauling vehicle, gloves, rain gear (the forecast is for dry weather but who knows) and your check book. These is a move it or sell it day ---- there will be no time or staff to handle sale at the storage barn. Buy as it is brought to daylight for the first time in 20+ years, No reasonable offer refused !! Bulk sales encouraged!!! Liquids and light lunch will be provided.

in re Harmon's stuff, just posted to Facebook that it DID NOT sell as a unit, will be sold off TOMORROW, Dec. 28, pick & choose with the assumption that whatever isn't sold will be carted off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
