Any other Nashophiles here?
-
Just to see if anyone else from the mail list wants to make this a more popular place?
Dan -
I would, as I have a 1953 Nash Ambassador Custom Country Club (2 dr Htp).
Michael -
I'm here with 57 and 52 Ambos in amongst the Hudsons. Brett
-
Just bought a 1955 Hudson Rambler Custom 4 Door. Anyone know how to adjust the fan belt?
-
I have a '54 metro.
-
I have a 57HUDSON HORNET HOLLYWOOD I'M ALSO THE TEC. ADVISOR FOR THE HUDSON CLUB
MC YOU ADJUST IT AT THE GEN . -
Just signed up here from the Nash MOL.
Thanks for the link Dan.
I'll be wandering around aimlessly until I find my way around here. -
The intent was for this to be on the Nash page, not the Hudson page!
Sorry -
yep Im happy to use this forum. I have 37 and 39 Nash coupes as well as a 37 and 39 Nash sedan
-
Mentioned this site at the Nash Nashional meet at Post Falls Idaho at the general club meeting this summer. No one seemed interested.
-
You mean the Nash Folks Snub US ?.. .. .. How Rude .. .. ..
RogerRetired Tech. -
Here is a new forum for Nash that one of the club members has put together. If you are interested in Nashes it might be the one to test out.

Just opened up during the last couple of days.

The National Club has a very good site too. Maybe that's the reason why they ignore this site.
-
The Nash club does not have an active forum only a email list server that is used by members only.
-
It is the NCCA garage
http:/nashcarclub.org/garage
Many Nash club members use that instead of here. A wealth of information there.
A lot of Hudson owners use this for free instead of joinig the HET. -
I was able to adjust the fan belt at the fan pully. Seems the water pump is run off a shaft from the generator. The fan is mounted to a bracket with slot in it.
-
As a member of that forum and the NCCA I ask you to come join the forum. We are looking for new members. It's free and we have many resource links to help with your resto.
When the forum was proposed to the MOL ( NCCA listserv) almost all the members rejected it since they don't want to use a forum despite the obvious advantages. We(the forum) haven't gotten much promotion from the NCCA so our member count remains low. I think I can say it is the more active Nash forum compared to others around the net. Come check it out! -
I have to join the NCCA before I can peruse that forum. I don't currently have a Nash, but I did own a couple of '50 Ambassador Airflytes. I am a '49-51 Bathtubophile......figures, since I also have a Tatra T603-1, a Hudson Stepdown, and previously had 3 Citroen DS's.......Do you see a recurring theme there????
-
You do not need to be a member of the NCCA to participate in the new Nash Forum. As noted above the old timers do not want to change so the new forum needs some new blood.

Looks pretty small.

You need to start somewhere!

I drove Nash's cousins, Ramblers, for years. All the way from the 1959 to 1969 models. Most were American station wagons. And most all were at least 15 years old when I got them. Bought 'em for $60, $70 bucks and most all had 70,000 to 90,000 on the clocks when I got my hands on them. Drove the daylights out of them for 4, 5 years and junked them when they got up to over 200,000 - the last one I had, a 1969 440 wagon, had somewhere around 250,000 on it when it went to the happy junk yard in the sky!!!! All were still running strong - living in Maine (salt country) winters were hell on the bodies. Only reason I quit buying and running them was I couldn't find any more - most owners figured they had gold in the barn and wanted more than I was willing to pay for a daily driver.
IMHO the 232 7-main bearing six was one of the better 6 cylinder engines built in this country. Never had trouble with it and I wasn't easy on them either.
Hudsonly,

I agree, Alex. My parents had a '62 Rambler American with a flathead 232, and it was WONDER engine- ran forever!
-
Tried to get on that forum, and you have to be "approved" first. Have not been "approved" yet, so guess I am not approveable.
-
Nevada, I think you mean the flathead 195 in the '62? The 232 was OHV and was introduced in 1965.
-
It did have a flathead 232 in it. Might have been from a Hudson.
-
yes i have a 1937 nash lafayette 400 2 door and it is my baby.
-
I have a 49 2dr tub i think it is a cool car but unfortunately is a 600 series with a flat head six - no Hudson but still a good edition to the barn. Old days had two rambler wagons the kids n wife could not destroy
-
Those are great on gas!
