Rocker Panels for a 1954

A person I know is looking for a Pr of used '54 Rocker Panels or a source to obtain reproduction Rockers. Please let me know of any leads.

I have a parts car''54 7d'', But I am still needing it for my driver.Rockers are not showing rust through as most do . The body is so nice that I will want to sell the intire car in the hopes that it will get back on the road?Call me Rod 512 964 0361 Austin texas.

I am also looking for some parts for my 54. If you do decide to part your car out I would like to buy some parts.... Most of what I need are trim parts i.e. Fender skirts, air filter, center grill stainless, horn ring and cap, passenger side trim below the tail light (back up light) and perhaps some interior trim.Brownie -
I just received a set from classic 2 current, they list them as 48-53 but since they used a set off of my 54 four door as a template I am going to assume that they will fit it. I have done nothing more than open the box and gaze at them so I do not know how they will fit or if they will work when I finally have a place to work on my car I will write a review, they are cheap at 24.99 a piece plus shipping.

For that price, they ain't gunna' fit. The metal alone, if it's the right thickness, is going to cost $10. or so per side.
Although the word "fit" might be a matter of opinion. :) -
I bought a set of those for a 51, but they are clearly for a 54. I called the guy to let him know they don't fit 48-53. He said I was wrong, but still refunded my money.

I have seen the stuff from "Classic 2 Current", it is very poorly made and doesn't fit right. My Swiss buddy got one of their floorpans with the Hornet Cpe he bought, and he didn't like it, so had Perry spring make him a set of front floorpans. Perry's fit like a glove and have the correct clips for the Tranny cover bolts to thread into. And yes, sheet steel is expensive today. I paid something like $50 for a 4ft X 10 ft sheet of 18guage back in 2005. Nowadays they are like $70-75. That $50 included the shop cutting it into eight 24" X 30" sections for me, which I used to made floors for the '37-47 Hudsons and Terraplanes. I think the 48-53 rockers could be Hydroformed, and the excess metal trimmed by hand, to keep costs low. Same could be done with the '54. Hydroforming doesn't require two dies, just a female die in the case of the Hudson rockers, and then the hydraulic pressure pushes on a bladder that then forces the sheet steel (which is clamped around the perimeter of the die) into the die cavity, stretching it uniformly.

As I said I did not know whether they fit or not, as far as I know they are the only option out there for 1954 models. I will let people know when I get them out and to the car, currently my hopes are not that high but hey they were free.

In the distant past, 30+ years ago, Rick Venza offered Fiberglass replica 54 2dr rocker panels.
Today, Hudzilla, Lance Walker has created fiberglass replacement rocker panels for the remaining stepdown years.Oldfarmer1947@gmail.com
