    What is the proper photo size for posting photos on the Hudson forum? I have no problem sending photos by email but the same photos will not post on the Hudson form.

    Typically, I would reduce photos posted on the forum to 800x600 (pixels), which should have enough detail for today's screens, and still be able to be uploaded. If you want more detail, try 1024x768 - that should post as well, but may be a bit large for some folks to view.

    Please note that a reduction in size of the picture will also reduce the file size. You may want to first make a copy of the original photo, so you still have the original, un-altered...

    Couple of additional notes -
    - You should be able to find a photo manager utility that can resize photos, MS Office has one;
    - It doesn't need to be those exact sizes, just get it close;
    - Go by percentage of the original, do not try to adjust horizontal vs. vertical (leave that for the more proficient users);

    Thanks Rick
    My digital camera is taking pictures at dimentions 4000 X 3000 and the size is from 1.96 to 4.00MB range. So I'll see if the store I bought the camera from can make the adjustment.
    Will the MB need to be adjusted too or just the dimentions?

    Try compressing the file to webpage format using any number of programs after you've saved the pictures from your camera onto your computer. I think Microsoft picture works for that. That way you have your high resolution pictures on you computer and can upload the small sized ones for the web. That way you don't have to change the high resoution pictures your camera can take.

    Lee - when in doubt, pull out the manual (for your camera). Every digital camera I've ever worked with had adjustments to change the pixel size of the photos - ya just got to know which buttons to push...
    As DocHubler indicates (and I personally do) set the definition high enough so that 8x10 pictures can be printed that look good, and use the computer software to reduce the pixels for posting on the web.
