I watched this morning. All four episodes where shown. Not a restoration and they kept saying this was not it was a customization.
While I would not have spent the time to chop the top, the rest of the work looked good. Again, keeping with the customization theme, it turned out nice.
I liked the grill change with the removal of the turn signals. The end result looked really smooth.
I would have preferred a darker blue, closer to the helmets of the NY Giants.
All that being said, if I had a decent frame Hudson just sitting and they offered to do it up for free, and the end result was similar to the one on the show, I would not turn it down. -
Watched it (as I was working) this AM, so will need to watch it again to get full details. However I was amazed at the lengths they went to in some areas to 'keep the look', while utterly ignoring it in other aspects. Goes without saying that is what is done when modifying a vehicle - and as was indicated above, this was not a restoration it was a customization.
All that being said, it was a nice job - and I would be very happy to own that vehicle. -
I also watched it today. They do good work. Would have liked to see more footage as they chopped the top (not easy of a stepdown.). But all in all was quite impressed with what they did and the time it took to do it. I am just starting a 54 coupe and if they wanted to take it to their shop and work it over I would be a happy camper. I would have it finished by Christmas. Since that is not going to happen, I am thinking that I will try to do a high end restoration on this car. It is complete and rust free and I have a ton of time on my hands. If I fail, it will still be a great car.... "Lipstick Red or Black" tough decision.....Brownie
