Paul Schuster had a set of Horns at the National, I've seen Mascots on eBay pretty regularly.

Come on anybody ? No wonder it takes years to restore a ride, makes you want to make a traditional hot rod.

Your not getting much response because your asking for some of the hardest to find and most rare pieces out there. :)

I have had several people reference me to PartingOut.com for parts. I haven't found the parts I am needing on a search yet but I created a Parts Wanted Listing (pretty cool its like creating a billboard for the parts you need) and I actually had a guy notify me he had the chrome for the hood of my riviera. So I found one of the three parts I'm looking for there. I hope the other two come up soon but I'm not in any big rush. I think the site is pretty new but could be a good way for you to get the parts you need too .... it doesn't cost anything so its not a risk just another way to tell people what you need and hope the right eye balls see it.

    Good luck

Thanks for the info, I know there are few and far between 33 cars and or parts but I would lay money that some people have hoards of stuff or doubles of stuff they don't want to part with. Just makes bringing back to life a old ride that much more difficult, I'm not in a big rush but I don't want to take 10 years to complete.

Been there, done that. It took me just over 18 months to find enough 1932 Essex hub caps to finish off my car. It does make one feel good to find those rare items and get them on the car.

Contact Cecil Nuxoll, 934 W. 16th, Spokane, WA 99203 (509) 838-1735 He makes horns for Hudsons of the 30's. He made mine for my 35T. He is old and his son-in-law may be doing the work now. They are custom made, 6V or 12V, etc. and costly. They are beautiful, correct and work

However, I don't believe Nuxoll furnishes the specific bracket one would need to mount the horns. Since that bracket would probably be peculiar to the Terraplane alone (and since 1933 is such an "off year" for virtually every make of car) you may find that the bracket's way harder to find than the horns themselves. However, someone in the Club may have undertaken to repro these items.

When looking for these 1933 parts, don't neglect putting an ad in the WTN, since it's read by many more Hudson people than this forum is. You might also try contacting Carl Weber, who buys and sells a lot of the older Hudson parts and might at least have some idea of what the parts look like (and what other kinds of cars might have similar ones that are easier to obtain).

From what I recall, the horn brackets could be easily made out of flat sheet metal. I can provide patterns if it is helpful.

I thoought the headlight stands were unique to external horn cars, in that they had a tapped hole for the bracket? Does anyone here have a '33 with the external horns that could post a close up pic? Thanks!

My Uncle had the chrome pieces for the sides of the hood cast by somebody, I do not know if he has more sets or if more could be made, he is on here (Tom Brintnall) you may want to check with him. I will ask him about it too. I think I have at least one fender light and possibly a shell but they are not complete.

here are your horns if add is correct
but the price look good though
i thought they had a different center in the trumpet but someone will correct me
thought it was linear rather than a mesh

They should have mesh I believe and the brackets are either wrong or not complete.

the headlamp to fender mount is tapped to received 2 screws from the horn bracket on the '33 Terraplanes that came with exterior front horns which were only on the Deluxe models built after August of '33 - not sure about the '33 Hudsons.

Jim had several of the extremely rare radios that were std. equip. on the Deluxe '33 Ts; he sold me one, about the only thing I was ever able to pry out of him, LOL.

Being that the rear fenders are almost impossible to find, does anyone have thoughts on the feasibility of having new ones made? There are plenty of good fabricators out there with the skills and machines.I'm thinking of people like Fay Butler.

Are the rear guards wider like the earlier coupes or just a different shape
I know the 31s coupes are wider than the sedans
A radio now there's a thought for you John
if you can't go maybe someone would acquire for you, but you may have to dig deep
but you never know your luck

The area where the fender bolts to the body is different , the front and tail are the same just the mid area width and bolting area is different.

Why don't you get ahold of someone and get an estimate? How many people need rear fenders?

I will check into this and report back.
I am currently having a new windshield being made for my '33, and I will also post my comments on that.

Great! It will be interesting how many people need rear fenders.....I have a set of sedans, but in a way hate to rob and modify those. They are better than the coupes, but still not great. I let my white triangle membership lapse, but a post in the newsletter/wedsite obviously good idea. If this idea progresses, I would put a fixed bid auction on ebay, requesting input.

How much would a set of coupe/convertible rear fenders be worth? I've never seen or even heard of any for sale.

Anyone have a number in mind?
