Hudson on Pawn Stars tonight

    The Pawn Stars showed the Hudson (and Hudsons in general) in a very positive light,Lots of good things were said about Hudsons fine engineering, and that the stepdown styling was a work of art....I really enjoyed that episode!

    My daughter called me tonight and told me about it. She said it was going to be replayed at 11:30 pm CST. Im currently missing my sleep to see it. LOL

    I only wished someone hadn't painted over the original factory woodgrain dash with a solid beige...Yuck! The gorgeouis factory woodgrain "wood" have really wowed them,lol...

    I certainly agree about the dash. That hood ornament was certainly the ughlist thing I have seen. Had 54 hub caps. Oh , dont mind me I am just jeolous.

    The video played, but only about half the show- it quit right after Rick said he was going to get an expert to look at it. What happened? How high did the offer go? I'm assuming he didn't buy it.

    20K - if the guy paid 10500 and sold it to them for 20k without doing any work to it - more power to him ~ never been my luck to make that kind of money on a car that wasnt totalled first!

    Rick bought it for $20 grand. The seller bought it for $10 grand three years before that. Not a bad profit.

    As to the hood ornament, that was a true 1948-1949 Commodore unit, but whoever did the restoration on the car decided the inverted triangle needed to be "gold" (ala that of the '51 Hornet). Have to agree it certainly last something between the messed up hood ornament and the painted dash.

    Window garnish mouldings chromed instead of woodgrain too. Have had mine going on 6 years
    and was in the middle on price,but mine came powered with a Cifford headed/headered twin-H 308 and a new never run 55 308 spare.

    was that a good price on that car? I've been looking around to find out values on these and they have been all over the map. I'm starting to think that I got a really really good deal on my car.

    I knew that was the right hood ornament but making the v gold----. I used to own a 49 Comm. 6 convertible. Did anyone notice the sticker in the rear quarter window. It was one of those from years ago. That car has been in the club for years. Wonder who originally owned it.

    OK, my opinion is not worth all that much but the owners quote of $35 would be too high for my interest. It was a clean mostly original (discounting what has been mentioned) car. The selling price of $20 is in keeping with what Old Cars Weekly has listed in their current book. For the price of 20K I would want the woodgraining..... But that is just me. There are a lot of really nice Hudson's in that price range including coupe's, brougham's and some trucks. On that car "I would be a byer at around $15K" is what Rick should have said....
