I have a friend who is waiting the delivery of a 1923-24 Hudson. He asked me to buy him clutch fluid. How much fluid is needed? My 54 is automatic so, I don't know anything about it...Thanks, Michel
P.S. Of course, as soon as he will get the car, I'll post some pictures. He doesn't want to talk too much about it for now...

michal most like a mixture of motor oil and kerosen clutch should be flused as well will perhaps galoline and then drained and replaced with.
1/2 pint equal parts kerosene and motor oil. or maybe hudsonite some else will pipe in soon

he can buy it ready made from several places , Doug the clutch guy of course , The HET club store , 21st Century Hudson just the one that come to mind. And it is sold in the proper size container for one fill ,

Thanks Steve and Roger. I saw that there is Doug's clutch fluid in the HET store in 6oz. bottle.
Do I realy understand well that a 6oz. can will be enough? Michel

Yes one bottle is one fill. You will probably need to be creative in filling it. Find a way to pump or funnel it in the small hole,

I use ATF in my 28 Essex - works well. Can't get any of the Hudsonite options down here.

You need more than the 6 oz. in the early clutch, Half a pint is more like it. And do not use kero/oil mix. Modern kerosene and oils are vastly different than what they had back in the twenties, and will not work properly. The kerosene nowadays is lighting kerosene, and modern oils have too many anti-friction compounds. Either proper Hudsonite , or Dexron III A.T.F. work fine. You can make up your own mix of Jet fuel and two-stroke oil, but much easier to use the proper stuff.
