firewall insulation repo
-
Talked to my manufactor on the firewall pad. Should have these in hand in 2.5 weeks to sell. I gave them patterns for a 51-54 models. Also will have the convertible option available. My question is there any significant difference from the 48-50 models. I believe the mounting and wiper cables are the same location but the holes for the wiring and parking brake may be different. Price will be at $95 plus shipping. If they only difference is the wiring I will keep the holes blank on them and have purchaser adapt holes were they need to be.
I am also looking for actual door cards in good shape that I can take a pattern from for 1948- thru 54 2 or 4 doors. So mounting holes and such have to be in place. You can also just leave the upholstrey on. I will supply a free set to anyone that can supply me with good patterns.
Thanks,
Russ Maas

Russ, I'm curious. Does any one produce the proper material used in the 52/53 Hornet trunks? Years ago I used a period correct " carpet material", since I could not find info on the original.

On the subject of door cards. The door for a 49 convertible and a 49 Super Two door sedan do not use the same clip configuration on the bottom. The convertible had holes along the bottom. The two door has a strip that interlocks and no clips. Otherwise they are the same dimensions. The Vin number convert was a 494-87648 the two door was 491-136303. I figured the production change happened in mid 49. No doubt speeded up assembly time.

As promised, the firewall insualtion has arrived. Looks great, as is of proper thickness for the heater control valve. Priced at $95 plus shipping and please allow 10 days to arrive. Will be updating the 21stcentury website with other goodies in the next 30 days.
