center steering arm center/ steering arm bracket

    i have a lot of play in the steering on my 53 super. is there a small roller bearing in this part. if so does anyone no of a bearing number for it. i have searched in my parts book and and can not come up with a number. a good parts picture would be a lot of help.

    Caerpiller part # 442926 is in my swap book as thesame as the needle bearing Hudson used. However there is replacement kits available in broze or nylon ,

    Hudson should never have used needle rollers in that situation, a bronze bush would have been a much better choice.

    If I was doing a replacement I would go for the bush rather than the rollers. Check that the shaft has not been worn by the needles before you go too far, otherwise you could be back to square one very quickly.

    thanks for info roger. Do you no where the nylon or bronze bushings kits are available
    from. this was an item overlooked in rebuild.

    If the pin is good I make a replacement bushing for $30 + $5 shipping. By the way I do not use nylon, Delrin or Acetate as I don't feel they are durable enough. I also do not care for bronze and certainly no brass. Gert Kristiansen email:

    We have had no complaints with the bronze-pin set up and they do work well over and above the roller bearings alnd so far are long lasting.. I do not have experience with the" Plastics" so I won't comment.
