1965 Chevy Impala wagon questions
-
Hello everybody.
I recently just bought a '65 Impala wagon. The car itself is in great condition as the guy I bought it from got it from Cali. This is the first old car I've had/ever worked on, so I have a lot to learn. I have a few questions for everyone;
1) It has been soda blasted, so I need to paint it. I'm planning on painting it myself with help from my dad, and I'm wondering if anybody has any tips for the process.
2) I still haven't decided what color(s) to paint it. I've looked all across the internet for pictures, but haven't found any that I'm completely satisfied with. I really want to go with a two tone: dark green on bottom with white on top. Has anyone seen one that stands out?
3) The guy in Cali, for some strange reason, painted all of the original interior black/gray. After spending some time trying to take the paint off, I decided that it would be too much work, so I want to get the seats reupholstered. The guy I know who does this kind of thing told me to look online for pre-made skins for them, but I haven't been able to find any for this model/year. Are there other cars with the same seats?
4) My dad and I saw a few cars at a show recently with electric fans for the radiator. Would that be worth doing? I need to replace the radiator anyway... -
This company offers seat covers for a '65 Impala wagon.

As far electric fans go, they can be useful if your car overheats or you can not run a stock fan.
