Thanks for all of the kind words guys. I have literally thousands of pictures of the car so I dont know which ones youd like to see but I will show more. Its taken me so long to get it done that I didnt really feel like showing pics and then just dissapearing from the scene for years which is what I tend to do. I may actually get it done in the next year or two though. I've been working on it off and on since 1998

Here are a few more pics of the convertible. It had a lot of rust in the rear frame rails and floors. The only removable body panel that came from the car originally is the hood. All the rest have come from other hudsons that I own.I guess I can only upload 5 pics at a time. If I add another comment to this thread can I upload 5 more? If this works here is a pic of the car after all body panels were fitted before I took them apart for painting. Then one of the Right Rear frame rail that was replaced; and then 3 pics of painted pieces including fenders, quarter panels, and front fenders.

I posted 62 pics of the convertible way back when showing a lot of the rustout repairs in the frame. That's some awesome work, Rob. I know you have been at this for a long time, but keep up the great work and your eye on the prize. Looks like you are getting real close to the fun part, the final assembly. Maybe we'll see you and your car in Spokane?

That's some heavy-duty work, Rob, and beautifully done. Picture of Fred prompts me to inquire how he's doing down in the sunny southwest? Did his eye situation ever resolve itself? What few NW chapter meetings I went to, I always found him to be especially friendly and helpful.

Hi, I've been making quite a bit of progress . Fred Connors came up from Carlsbad NM and spent 22 days at my place in Washington State and put the engine , transmission ,driveline and rear end in the car. I assisted, sort of, ("Wheres the 9/16 wrench...LOL"). He also rebuilt the front end with new kingpins, tie rod ends and center steer bushing. We used a sintered bushing rather than the roller bearings in the center steer. I am now back on the trunk area of the car trying to get it ready for paint. I need some advice on how to prepare the trunk area for paint and sound deadening. I have stripped it all to bare metal and plan to paint it all shiny red like the outside of the car. The part Im having trouble deciding is whether to undercoat any of it inside the trunk or that textured look and what to use and where to get it. It seems like the undercoating Ive seen isn't very textured . Ive added a few more pics of the progress to this thread. You could shoot the trunk red like the exterior and then come up with some thick rubber mat material to cover the floor etc. Another option would be Rhino liner or Linex truck bed liner tinted red (the do shoot in color) . The only issue with truck bed stuff is some people will assume that you're hiding problems ie rust. As I always say... It's you car so build it like you want to... and drive it!

Those are Bill Labud Disk Brakes. You send him your Hubs and he turns them into disk brakes for about $750. He doesnt include the front wheel bearings but he does include the brake hoses. They seem really good.

Hi,
I am getting close to having the convertible drivable on the road. I've been working on it just about every day about 6 hours a day. I plan to drive it to Spokane in August even though the interior and top won't be done. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you guys who are coming to the meet and seeing your cars.

Hi Rob, she sure is starting to look prrrretty and some of the mods will be well worth it especially those brakes, looks straight as an arrow, its all going to be well worth the effort and the finished product will be so cool
